Getting Help
I really need help, who do I call?
The Albuquerque Rescue Mission helps homeless men, women and women with children, with food and clothing while providing emergency shelter for men.
From November 15th through March 15th each year, emergency winter overnight shelter is available for men and women and families with children age 10 yrs old and under. If you need any of these services please call us at 505-346-4673 for more information.
If you need help in another area and you need a referral for service, please call us at 505-346-4673 ext. 254. We will do our best to help you.
How much does it cost to stay at the mission?
There is no charge for the services provided by the Mission. We serve hundreds of thousands of meals each year and provide thousands of articles of clothing and nights of shelter all at no cost to our guests or program participants.
The Mission receives no Federal, State, City, or United Way funding for any of our year round programs. We are supported by hundreds of caring and compassionate people who are concerned about the quality of life in our city, for everyone who would call Albuquerque home.
The Mission offers its help to anyone regardless of race, creed or color.
I saw a homeless man on the side of the street with a sign asking for help, what do I do?
So many times our hearts are broken for people we see each day in our city. Whether they be on the side of the road with a sign or sitting in an alley trying to stay warm and dry, there is something inside of us that reacts to the apparent suffering. The staff at the Mission has been helping people with serious problems for decades and we have the right types of services and programs which can help them get back on their feet.
We strongly recommend that you do not take any homeless or apparently homeless person to your home for any reason. We do recommend that you guide them to come the Mission for food and help.
The Mission provides handy wallet cards free of charge with a list of our services- meal times- hours and a map to the Mission. If you would like to pick some of these cards up to carry with you. Please stop by the Mission at 525 Second St. SW Mon- Fri 8-4:30 pm
